Position Summary:
Provide pre and post license technical support for Japanese game development companies using the Unreal Engine. Assist with Epic Game’s efforts to provide Japanese localized tools and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- This person must be sufficiently familiar with the functionality of Unreal Engine 3, and sufficiently knowledgeable of technical development topics, to directly respond to Japanese licensee’s support questions and translate technical support questions and answers with the developers at Epic HQ for issues s/he is unable to answer directly.
- Assist Epic Games Japan’s Territory Manager with Unreal Engine license efforts including but not limited to live Unreal Engine demonstrations, arranging evaluations, providing pre-license technical support, evangelizing Unreal Engine at tradeshows, Japanese language developer web sites, etc.
- Assist in the creation and translation of support documentation on the Unreal Developer Network website, as well as specialized support documentation, videos, and samples for the Japanese market.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not have any direct reports initially. Over time as demand outstrips our ability to perform we may hire additional Epic Games Japan support staff that will become reports to the Support manager
Location and Required travel:
This position will be located at Epic Games Japan’s Japanese office (in or around the Tokyo area—exact location TBD). Frequent travel in Japan to meet with Japanese licensees and potential licensees and between the U.S. and Japan will be required.

Minimum:
- Ability to speak, read and write technical Japanese
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Game industry experience
- UE3 experience
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
- Technical Customer Service experience
- Proficiency in any other languages
