    managing releases and hype-train conducting

hello, i wanted to discuss about the game releases. i am concerned about the release of this game, in my opinion it is very important to not hold up games such as this one in testing, since mobile games are relying heavily on trending a late release can be very bad for the game. i am going to compare the future popularity cycle of this game with the one of pokemon go, pokemon go released in the major regions very fast which made it very popular but of course since it had many problems and wasn't compelling enough people gradually stopped playing, the releases for minor regions took a lot of time and by the time it got to my region the hype was gone and so was the player base (i am sure pokemon go is still played by a large number of players but i am also sure it is considerably smaller than what it was in the first 3 months or so). this game is by no means as hyped as pokemon go and as pokemon go in general but it is a mobile game. if the example of pokemon go didn't satisfy you take a look at the forum activity, again the forum is almost arid by this point and we don't hear a lot of announcements, updates or anything. with a too slow release the game wont have enough player base to support it even if it is compelling enough to keep it's already existing player-base. I am sure epic games knows what they're doing (hopefully) and i just wanted to bring up my opinion. my main concern is that the game won't get to my region until it is way too late. (i dont know how the pc release is working with regions but hopefully it is not like the appstore) (pokemon go released in my region after six or more months of the initial release, i didnt want to play pokemon go even before it got to me but i do want to play this game)

I dont know, the game is fun, but it has yet to come to close 4 star rating, its a 3 tops, a lot of mechanics are plainly bad for example the monstrosities, having a creature like that on the game will put off a lot of people, nobody wants to fight a monster that you only going to hit 1s, has no mana cost for his ability and can hit 3 targets with crit chance, thats just a bad mechanic, you have the mines that cost money and you dont have a guarantee that you are going to get your money´s worth.
Several hero skills are broken AF, once you pass the 10th zone, some bosses can wipe your entire team in one skill, you get a 6*yang that manage to leap, its game over for example. The fact that you need to buy portals to run rooms its also bad, there is not enough supply to make the run of rooms enjoyable and charging 100 diamond to use the secret shop its useless.

Then you have the actual cost of getting a 5* hero to 6* which is over 3k diamonds, 2700 if you buy the evolution chest, still take that sum into real cash and you go WTF because that sum is per hero. The energy(stamina system), you can bet people is going to complain and give a low rating because of the stamina system, being able to play 3-4 stages every 3-4 hours will also work against them.
The devs got some work ahead if they want to aim for a 4 star store rating. At least no game on the google store is similar to this so they have that working in their favor.

you'll need to excuse me because i haven't played the game yet so i barely understand what you described but if the problems you talked about are affecting the compellingness of the game and most importantly the new player and casual player experience then the game is at a difficult place where the faster it gets out the better but the more problems it has on release the more quickly it will die (i am assuming that this game wont be a classic mobile or pc game such as clash of clans for mobile or minecraft for pc).

another thing to consider is since this games is counting on it's own reputation at start unlike pokemon go i believe most of its player-base will be casual random people searching for a new game on the appstore or google store as with most other mobile games (my theory at least), and i dont think people who saw this game at conventions and epic games fans are going to be enough for this game to support it alone since not all of them is going to play it.

in the appstore at least there are considerable amount of adventure collecting rarity stuff games such as Final Fanatsy Brave Exvius and more that i am too lazy write down (excuse me for change of tone im just being honest). so this game definitely has competition at least in one market and more over it needs to earn some reputation and gain some hype, if they collaborate with apple to promote it on the appstore like Infinity Blade 3 it can be a success

in an off note i dont have any professional knowledge at game marketing or mobile games economy and pretty much all the stuff i talked about in a serious way, i am just making assumptions and theories that seems reasonable to me but as human nature is unpredictable at times to any one who sees this feel free to correct me if i am wrong or validate my opinions if i am right. there is a lot i dont know about this game as well and from your comment i realize this game is maybe younger in it's development cycle than i thought at first.

I want to reply to both @S1raz1 and @jigima51.

First, much of the complaints that S1raz1 has are inaccurate and seem to be based on a player that has not spent a lot of time with the game. Ive been playing this game since February and I have spent $0 and I have maxed buildings and maxed heroes. Ive easily been able to get all my 5* heroes to 6* no problem. The shards and materials needed are all grindable. This is one of the most accessible games for a free player. You earn 30,000 or more free gems beating all the levels on each difficulty. The only point that S1raz1 makes that is close to accurate is the stamina system. Yes it's annoying but it's pretty standard for mobile and doesn't ever drastically hinder gameplay. About the difficulty, if you want an easy game that provides no challenge and no incentive to get better look elsewhere. Are there huge monstrosity bosses that can one shot your team? Yes. Does it take time and commitment to overcome this? Yes. I have a Max HQ and Max heroes in 4 months. Ive played clash of clans nearly 4 years and haven't even got close to Max anything so it's all perspective. I have 4 starred the entire campaign as a free player so it's possible if you bother to level up your account and level up your heroes, but this game doesn't just hand you everything you want on a silver platter. Nor should it. That being said the Devs are very receptive to players concerns and are working on tweaks all the time.

Now, onto jigima51, I understand your concern about a long softlaunch before global release and the importance of making a splash, especially on mobile where new games come out literally everyday. The AppStores are flooded with games all the time and you need to be able to make yours stand out. I think battle breakers can make a splash even in a very crowded Social RPG market. The stylish gameplay, the ease of access, and the high polish presentation are all good things. The difficulty curve is fair if you don't mind grinding a bit as well. As they add more social features like PvP and more events (hopefully they can have constant events like Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle, Brave Exvius, and Summoners War) so we will see how the development progresses. I played Dawn of Titans while it was in softlaunch for over a year then it finally went global. Boom Beach and Clash Royale were in softlaunch for 4-6 months before global release as well. Long calculated softlaunches are pretty common in mobile and always leads to a better product on global release.

        Thanks,

        Tywin

Tywin all your feedback is based on the fact that you were able to play vanilla portal stages AKA run as much as you can for 30 mins, which allowed you to get huge amount of both gold, evolution material and elixirs. Now OFC you dont need anything since you have endless stock of both gold and evo material, people that will get starting out will notice that a simple elemental shard cost 300k gold you need an average of 6 to get a single character both promoted and evolved. so we are talking about 1.8 million gold on shards alone, then you have essences that cost 10, 100 and 240k each which you need all 3 kinds on different amounts to evolve a character and the cost add on and on not to mention that your heroes also need elixirs that cost 4k and 50k gold each, and you get now what 2 to 6 portal energy between refreshes to run portal stages a day with each portal stage taking 6 energy so a new player wont even be able to run portal stages on a regular basis let alone get the cold to buy evo material.

So no tywin.... it must be nice living in a fantasy world saying you wont need to grind for a month just to evolve a single character or pay 3000k gems per character.

And beating the game for 30k gems.. LOL!!!! once you pass stage 10 *IF* your guys arent promoted, evolved and with max elixirs your progress will stop to a crawl, let alone that it would require you to play like i said every 3-4 hours run a stage repeat ad nauseum since youll consume all your stamina in a single stage.

So GTFOutta here with saying monstrosities take commitment nobody, absolutely nobody wants to waste over 5 minutes hitting 1 dmg and only dealing damage to a mob when crit and eviscerate trigger absolutely NOBODY. Not to mention that some people will want to carry their selection of heroes not have the cookie build of filling their roster only with crit/eviscerate guys because they wont be able to know when they are going to get a monstrosity boss.

And i didnt even said anything about how dumb its the monster pit mechanic since that its completely optional but you have another resource sink there that is poorly implemented.

Game needs more development and balancing to go before launching or risking a 2-3 score currently as it is, and since it has been so long since they offer the pre register, game now is not even featured on the store unless you do a quick search.
At least there are no clones of games with a mechanic like battle breakers so it wont die as soon as it launches.

Well, I totally agree with Tywin. I started playing as a free player, and finish all the lvls without paying nothing, while that I got 2 six stars and almost full lvled them. About the vanilla portal stage... JUST WTF... you need portals and u need energy, as a free player you dont get much on there, because u just get a few runs...

About the monstousity boss... I understand its hard, but dude, go and lvl up some stuff, get some debuffers/buffers and try it again...Or you can just try to play some easier game, like one of the hello kitty series.

Respect the opinions for sure. I fundamentally disagree with a lot of what you said, but please go post some specific ideas on how to better the game in the suggestions section. I see you already have one thread over there. Are you on the discord? Join it if not and post your suggestions there too!

Keep it up man, all feedback is valuable at this stage yea? The game can only keep getting better for the global launch.
