    A melee only outlander.

So I've been playing with melee for a while and have decided to try to make melee viable. I wanted to keep playing my outlander so I decided to experiment with different things and I have a very rough idea of how it will work. I was hoping to get some opinions on this since I haven't used melee that much until now.

My Loadout so far (don't have all components so far)

The outlander is recon scout AC (the founder one) and the weapon is the storm blade. The storm blades first two upgrades are durability and the third is damage with the fourth being afflicted damage and the last being crit chance. I was thinking of putting the Snuggle specialist Sarah in the support slot for the stamina regen for the phase shift ability. The gadgets I'm using are adrenaline rush and the supply drop but I'm thinking of changing supply drop to the teleport device, the flag (haven't looked at it yet but I think it heals over time) or some damage gadget. For tactical I would use any ninja that gives the corrosion perk.

My play style with this loadout

For my play style I typically use traps to tunnel husk and stand at either the end or front(I stand at the front more often) of it to kill the husks coming in or the remaining ones. I usually use phase shift to get out of sticky situation and use the shock towers when a big load of husks just spawned. I use the heavy attack for wiping out groups and heal when the heat has died down using adrenaline rush (preferably with others around). I might add in the laser scyth (legendary) for mist monsters and fattys if a big bunch of then spawns at once.

To sum up the play style

I use traps to kill husks that get past me and phase shift to get away. I use adrenaline rush for healing and the heavy attack for wiping out groups and the legendary laser scyth may be added for mist and fattys.

Sorry if this is hard to understand I haven't written one of these before. Any feedback from people who have tried these kinds of things before would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a nerfed ninja build, to be honest.

Serious feedback aside, the only way to play melee outlander is pickaxe only Pathfinder Jess with a pickaxe damage bonus support hero.
(This is part joke, but also surprisingly effective if you're overlevelled, I've cleared low Plankerton SSDs like that, being like halfway through Plank myself)

I've never been a fan of the pick axe melee builds as I find the pick axe melee attack very boring to use but your right a pick axe outlander is about the only way to do a melee outlander (that's why I'm hoping for a melee buff).

So u are a phase shift ninja whitout any melee perks (other than corrosion).? But i get it. Sounds like fun.

if the outlanders woudnt have those fragements needed for shocktowers ... Only 2 or 3 per defend...

As ninja its hard enouf as it is with shadowstance and its good abilitys to get out tight spots mantisleap, dragonslash and smokescreen. All 3 work if u get overrun by husks.
With Phase shift u coudnt get out if u surrounded.
And it will happen! (Edit: Oh yeah update made phase shift in the air fall down better keeping momentum instead of instant streight down . so that works better for quick escape groups. U get that extra dictance is enouf to be safe)

I started out maining ninja with everything upgraded for melee. At one point i had 45% +melee from the surviver squads. I used mythic swordmaster ken with serious melee perks .
    It was so much fun!!!
But now i am mid twine and only use soldier for serious missions!
Double shuriken master setup for encampments and ssd's. But thats it. I now have 0 melee upgrade from survivors.

    Melee is WORTHLESS in twine...
Ninjas are still usable with high dmg abilities but with a gun instead of a sword ...

I was suprised with how effective it is if you jump then phase shift and jump and phase shift again. With that combo I've gotten out of a lot of tight spots and yes I realize this is basically a nerfed ninja build.

Thanks for the feedback and yes I realize this is basically a nerfed ninja build but I couldn't get myself to give up the in the zone perk and the shock towers (I love those things). As stated above I've found a combo using phase shift that has yet to fail me and if it does I've got the anti material charge for that final burst (I should also mention AC has a perk where his movement speed is increased after phase shift so that helps a lot).

One of the components I'm missing right now is snuggle specialist Sarah and I'm 800 gold away from getting her does anyone know when the event items change?
