Exclusive Cosmetics for Original Skin Owners

Skins—we all love them, we all want them, some more than others. Fortnite is now in its second round of holiday seasons. Seasonal skins are in their second term and everyone has been waiting for re-releases. This all started off July 5th, when the Red Knight was re-released. The Red Knight was one of the first legendary skins and a token of status. From January 25th to February 20th, it appeared in the shop for five total days. Then it was never released again. People thought it was going to be a seasonal skin just like Renegade Raider. Whenever people saw this skin, everyone wanted it. Epic then decided to re-release it on July 5th. The Red Knight became a thing of the past and an average skin that anyone could have. After this, everyone looked ahead questioning--will the Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper be re-released when October 2018 comes around? Should they re-release them? October comes and sure enough, the Skull Trooper is teased to be re-released and this sparked controversy over owners who have had this skin for a year and have been unique from everyone else. Epic decided to compensate those who had been loyal to the game and original owners by giving them a purple variant of the Skull Trooper. This was a smart move and the controversy went away. But... the Ghoul Trooper was never re-released. Why not?

This brings me to the point of the winter holiday skins. Everyone knew the time would come where the winter holiday skins from Season 2 would be re-released. First, the Nog Ops and the Yuletide Ranger were re-released. Yet there was no compensation for original owners of these skins. For over a year these skins have been extremely rare and OG. When you saw these skins in your lobby, you knew the person behind the character had been playing Fortnite for a long time. Everyone looked at these skins and said, "That is a loyal player." As of December 18, 2018, a new patch was brought to Fortnite. In this patch, original owners of the Merry Maurader, Ginger Gunner, and Crackshot skins were compensated with exclusive backblings and skin variants. In the same day, the Red-Nosed Raider skin was re-released, yet original owners of this skin weren't compensated with anything to make them stand out and be different from all the new owners and players. As of December 19, 2018, the Legendary Crackshot skin was re-released and with a new backbling that many thought was going to be exclusive to original owners. Why is that? I understand that the Merry Maurader and Ginger Gunner are Epic skin variants, yet the Crackshot is Legendary.

Skins were introduced to allow players to stand out from each other and be unique compared to the person next to them. But, with skins being re-released, it takes away from the sentimental value of owning this unique and OG skin. If anyone can own this skin that I have had since the beginning, what is the point of having it? Should you stay loyal to those that have been with you for an entire year? Why does the variant of a skin determine compensation? Either compensate all original owners with an exclusive backbling, no matter the rarity of the skin, or simply stop re-releasing seasonal skins. Battle Pass skins are a perfect example: anyone has the chance to earn them throughout 10 weeks and after that never again. Skins like Skull Trooper, Nog Ops, Yuletide Ranger, Red-Nosed Raider, Merry Maurader, Ginger Gunner, and Crackshot should have stayed seasonal skins like Renegade Raider. Now that they aren't, you should treat all original owners equally and award them an exclusive item for their loyalty to Fortnite.

As Of December 21, 2018, the Skull Trooper skin is now the only skin that has an exclusive variant for Original Owners, is this because it is a Season 1 skin? Where is the equality?
