I'm getting the 'An error occurred in our internal service. Please try again in a few minutes' error when trying to set up Two-factor authentication (2FA)
If you are trying to set up Two-factor authentication (2FA) for your account and encounter this error, you may want to try checking the following first.
- Make sure you are setting up your account 2FA correctly. Please look at Two-factor authentication (2FA) and how to enable it.
- Check for any ongoing server issues or outages by visiting https://status.epicgames.com/ (Opens in a new tab)
If, after checking these, the error persists, you can check or try the following:
- Try using an incognito window or a different browser/device to turn on 2FA for your account
- Turn off hosting/VPN services during the process
- Try turning on a different 2FA method, e.g., if you are getting an error when turning in SMS 2FA, try turning on email 2FA
- Make sure that the country on your Epic Games account matches the country you currently reside in.
