The game crashed due to a graphics card (GPU) fault and will now exit error in Alan Wake 2

If you receive this error, try the following troubleshooting steps to fix the issue: 

1. Go to the folder where you installed Alan Wake 2
   If you aren't sure where you installed the game:

   1. Open the Epic Games Launcher library

   2. Go to the Alan Wake 2 tile.

   3. Click the three dots next to the tile

   4. Click Manage

   5. Click the folder icon next to Installation to open the install location.

2. In the game folder, right-click AlanWake2.exe

3. Click Settings

4. Go to the Compatibility tab

5. Check the box to disable full-screen optimizations, and then click Apply and close the window

6. Relaunch the game.

7. If the error persists:

   1. Disable all optional background activities from GPU control's center (e.g, NVIDIA Game Ready, AMD Adrenalin), such as performance boosts and game optimizations

   2. Try launching the game again.
