How to Cancel or Refund Fortnite Item Shop Purchases Made with V-Bucks

You can cancel or return most Fortnite Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks using two self-service options: Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets.

Note: Purchases made in developer-made islands are not returnable and cannot use the Cancel Purchase option or Return Tickets. For more information, refer to Returning in-island transactions
Note: If you want a refund for purchased content with real money through a third party that is not Epic Games, Epic does not have the ability to process refunds for those purchases, please visit the Platform Refunds request page (Opens in a new tab) for more details.

The following items cannot be refunded using Cancel Purchase or Return Tickets: 

  • All Passes, including Festival (limited-time event) Pass
  • Pass Level
  • Premium Reward Track
  • Gifted Purchases
  • Level Up Quest Packs 
  • Save the World loot llamas, event, or weekly items 
  • Purchases made in developer-made islands 

Cancel Purchase

You can use Cancel Purchase to cancel or undo a Fortnite Item Shop purchase made with V-Bucks if it was bought by mistake.  

Cancel Purchase is available for 24 hours after buying the item and as long as the item has not been used or equipped in any game mode. 
When you cancel a purchase, the item is removed from your account and your V-Bucks are returned. Each item can only be canceled once. If you cancel a purchase and buy the same item again, the game will remind you of this. 

If Cancel Purchase is not available, you may be able to use a Return Ticket. 

Return Tickets

If more than 24 hours have passed since your purchase, you may be able to use a Return Ticket. 

Return Tickets can be used for eligible items bought within the last 30 days.
When you use a Return Ticket, the item is removed from your account and your V-Bucks are returned. If the purchase was a bundle, the entire bundle must be returned together. 

  • Each account starts with 3 Return Tickets 
  • You get 1 new return ticket every 365 days 
  • You can have up to 3 tickets at one time 

If you have no Return Tickets and the 24-hour Cancel Purchase window has passed, the purchase cannot be refunded. Epic Games Support cannot grant additional Return Tickets.

How to Cancel or Return a purchase in-game

  1. Open Fortnite.
  2. Select the Player Icon in the top right.
  3. Click on the Hamburger menu.
  4. Select Support and Refunds.
  5. Click on Return or cancel purchase.
  6. Find the item you want to return or cancel.
  7. Confirm your choice.
  8. Your refunded V-Bucks will appear on-screen.

How to Cancel or Return a purchase in the Web Item Shop

  1. Sign in to your account at fortnite.com/shop (Opens in a new tab)
  2. Click the Player Icon in the top right.
  3. Select Return and Cancel Purchases.
  4. Select Show Purchases.
  5. Choose the item to return or cancel.
  6. Confirm your choice.
  7. Your refunded V-Bucks will appear on-screen.
