“This code has not been activated by the retailer” error when redeeming a Fortnite gift card

This error means the gift card was not activated at the point of sale.
Epic Games Support cannot activate gift cards - only the retailer where the card was purchased can do this.

If you purchased the card in a physical store:

1. Return to the store with the gift card and your receipt as proof of purchase.
2. Ask a staff member to activate the card at the register.

If you purchased the card online:

1. Contact the retailer's customer support with your order number and a description of the issue.
2. Ask them to activate the card or issue a replacement.

Note: Keep your receipt until the card has been successfully redeemed.
