Why don't purchases within my game give me Epic Rewards?

Epic Rewards are only granted if the purchase is made in the Epic Games Store checkout flow. This means that you have to make the purchase from within the Epic Games Store.  Making a purchase from within the game itself will not give Epic Rewards.

Purchases on the Epic Games Store that grant rewards will list the rewards on the right side of the receipt page showing, "Earn <> in Epic Rewards with this purchase."
