Errors when creating a payment method

Note: If you are a child and your parent hasn't helped you set up your account, you may have a Cabined Account with limited features. Refer to the Cabined Account page (Opens in a new tab) for more information.

If you are unable to add a payment method, check the following:

Payment details

• Billing address - make sure it matches exactly what your bank has on record (most common cause)
• Expiration date and CVV - check for typos
• Name on card - must match your card exactly. If your name contains non-English characters, refer to Name on card is invalid" error in the Epic Games Store.

Account settings

• Make sure your Epic Games account country matches your billing address country. Refer to How do I change the country on my Epic Games account? if needed.
• Disable any active VPN or proxy service before adding a payment method.

If none of the above resolves the issue, try a different payment method or contact your card issuing bank directly.
