How do I enable performance mode in Fortnite?

Fortnite built-in performance mode can assist players with low frame rates. Enabling performance mode may increase your frames per second (FPS).

To enable the Performance - Lower Graphical Fidelity setting, do the following:

  1. Launch Fortnite.
  2. Click on the Player Icon.
  3. Select Setting (gear icon).
  4. Select the Video tab (monitor icon).
  5. Under Display Section, select Rendering Mode.
  6. Click the arrows to select Performance.
  7. Select Apply to save changes.
  8. Restart Fortnite.

If you are running in this mode, you can also free up some hard drive space. You have the option to remove the high-resolution textures from your Fortnite installation. This will save you over 15 GB of space and reduce the total size of Fortnite's installation. This may also help your computer performance.

  1. Launch the Epic Games Launcher.
  2. Select Library.
  3. Locate Fortnite and click the Meatball menu (three dots).
  4. Select Options.
  5. Uncheck High Resolution Textures.
  6. Select Apply to save changes.
