"The application has hung and will now close" error when playing Fortnite on PC

This error may occur when launching Fortnite on PC with a controller connected. To resolve this, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Disconnect the controller from your computer

2. Press the Windows key and restart your computer

3. Relaunch Fortnite

4. If the error is still showing, ensure you have: 

   1. Updated Windows to the latest version including any security patches/updates

   2. Verified the integrity of your game files by following the instructions in How do I verify game files in the Epic Games Launcher? 

   3. Updated the drivers to your graphics card: How do I update my video card drivers to fix problems with Fortnite?

5. You can try reinstalling Fortnite by following the steps in: How do I reinstall Fortnite?

6. If none of the steps above resolve the issue, you may have a problem with your device.  Reach out to your device manufacturer for assistance.
