How do I appeal a communication ban on my Epic Games account?

If your account has been restricted from text or voice chat due to a Community Rules violation, you can review the case and submit an appeal through the Sanctions and Appeals portal.

Note: Not all violations are eligible for appeal.
Note: Epic Games Support cannot review or override communication bans on your behalf - appeals must be submitted through the portal only.

Before you start

Check the email associated with your Epic Games account. You should have received a message outlining the violation and a Sanction ID. You will need this Sanction ID to access your case in the portal.
Note: If you did not receive an email, the sanction details will be shown to you in-game the next time you sign in to Fortnite.

To submit your appeal:

1. Go to the Sanctions and appeals (Opens in a new tab) portal.
2. Sign in to the Epic Games account that received the restriction.
3. Enter the Sanction ID from your notification email.
4. Review the details of the action taken.
5. If you believe the decision was incorrect, follow the on-screen steps to submit your appeal.
