Why did my mastered Sprite return to level 1 after losing it in a previous match in Fortnite?

If your mastered Sprite returned to level 1 after losing them (either by being eliminated or dropping it) in the previous match, this is intended behavior. 

Mastering a Sprite doesn't mean their level won't reset after losing them. Mastery is for unlocking Sprites Mastery Rewards and allowing you to put the Mastered Sprites in your Sprite Pod back bling. 

Once a Sprite is mastered, even if the level resets, it will always stay mastered. This is shown by the crown icon above your Sprites in the Sprite Tab in-game.
