How does matchmaking work in Fortnite?

Fortnite uses matchmaking to pair you with other players for a match.

Matchmaking considers player skill, so you are more likely to match with players with a similar skill level. This does not mean every player in your match will have the same skill level.

As your skill improves, the skill level of your opponents may also increase.
