How to add a nickname to a friend's account in Fortnite

  1. Open the game menu.
    • On PC/Mac, press Esc.
    • On PlayStation, press the Options button.
    • On Xbox, press the Menu button.
    • On Switch, press the + button.
    • On Android, press the Menu button and then the gear icon.
  2. Select the FRIENDS tab. 
  3. Select the friend you want to give the nickname.
  4. Click MORE OPTIONS
  5. Click ADD NICKNAME
  6. Enter a nickname and click SAVE
  • Nicknames are limited to 16 characters
  • Once you've added a nickname, you’ll be able to use that nickname to find friends in your friend list.
  • In-match, the game will display your friends' normal display name

Note: Players in Cabined Accounts are not able to add nicknames

Note: If you remove a friend from your friend list who has assigned you a nickname, or vice versa, the nickname will be reset and will need to be set again.
