I returned my Sidekick and lost all Sidekick Points after repurchasing it

If you buy a Sidekick and earn its cosmetic rewards but then decide to return it, the unlockable rewards and any earned Sidekick Points will be removed as well. This means that if you repurchase a Sidekick, your progress toward the Sidekick Quests will be reset.
