Why can't I pick up weapons and other items on my Nintendo Switch?

If you are having problems picking up items in Fortnite on your Nintendo Switch, you can change from the default control settings and customise what you want the buttons/keys to do (aka the keybinds) by following these steps:

1. On your Nintendo Switch, open the Fortnite app.
2. Press the "+" button.
3. Select the Settings icon (gear icon).
4. Click on SETTINGS
5. Go to the controller icon.
6. Choose Controller Binding Presets and change it to Custom to edit keybinds
7. Choose the action that you wish to customize and press the button you want to use to carry out that action in-game.
8. Repeat step 7 for all actions you wish to customize.

Note: This applies both on Nintendo Switch's V1/V2, and OLED model.
