Why is it taking a long time to join ranked matches in Fortnite?

Ranked matches require a pool of similarly ranked players in order to start a game. Playing during slower hours, when there are fewer players, will take longer for Fortnite to match players of similar skill levels.

To minimize the wait, try queuing during peak hours. This is when most players are available and matches will be quicker to fill.

The best times for ranked matches are 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. (a 13-hour period) locally. Playing ranked matches outside this time will often result in longer wait times for the match to find enough players and begin.
