"Another account on this machine has already played in this Event" message when joining a Fortnite competitive tournament

If you get the following error while trying to join a competitive event or tournament, try restarting the game or playing a Ranked mode match: 

Another account on this machine has already played in this Event. Any attempts to circumvent the lock will result in a penalty to your account.

If restarting the game or playing a Ranked mode match doesn't work, check the Rules Library (Opens in a new tab) as each event will have different limitations and eligibility requirements that you must meet. Epic Games Support cannot remove this restriction.
