I'm getting a "License check failed" error when opening Star Wars games on Android

If you're seeing this message when trying to launch Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic or Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic II on your Android device, the issue is usually related to your internet connection or device permissions.

  1. Make sure your device is connected to the internet using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  2. Check that the game has internet access permissions in your device's settings.
  3. While connected to the internet, open the game so it can complete the license check.
  4. Clear the game’s local storage and cache. Refer to How to clear your Android cache and cookies (Opens in a new tab).
  5. If clearing the cache doesn’t help, uninstall both the game and the Epic Games Store app, then reinstall them. Refer to How do I install the Epic Games Store on Android?
  6. After reinstalling, stay connected to the internet and launch the game. Accept any prompts to confirm your account or share permissions.
Note: Stay online during the first launch so the license check can complete. Once it passes, you’ll be able to play offline on that same device.
