I'm getting a "License check failed" error when opening Star Wars games on Android
If you're seeing this message when trying to launch Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic or Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic II on your Android device, the issue is usually related to your internet connection or device permissions.
- Make sure your device is connected to the internet using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Check that the game has internet access permissions in your device's settings.
- While connected to the internet, open the game so it can complete the license check.
- Clear the game’s local storage and cache. Refer to How to clear your Android cache and cookies (Opens in a new tab).
- If clearing the cache doesn’t help, uninstall both the game and the Epic Games Store app, then reinstall them. Refer to How do I install the Epic Games Store on Android?
- After reinstalling, stay connected to the internet and launch the game. Accept any prompts to confirm your account or share permissions.
Note: Stay online during the first launch so the license check can complete. Once it passes, you’ll be able to play offline on that same device.
