This error can appear if you launch the game from a desktop shortcut or a third-party launcher. Try the steps below to fix it.

2. Check for any pending updates to the Epic Games Launcher. Refer to Update the Epic Games Launcher.
3. Open the game from your Library in the Epic Games Launcher.
