How do I enable speech-to-text (voice-dictation)?
Speech-to-Text allows you to dictate text chat messages using your voice instead of typing.
When you speak, your message is converted into text in the chat input field so you can review or edit it before sending. The feature is available in English.
Fortnite (PC/console), Epic Games Launcher (PC)
- Go to Communication settings
- Turn on the “Allow Voice Dictation” option.
- Select the microphone icon in the text chat to start dictation
On mobile (Fortnite, Epic Games Store mobile, Epic Games App mobile)
Enable the feature, then use the virtual keyboard's built-in dictation feature (Microphone icon):
- iOS
- Go to Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Keyboard.
- Scroll down and turn on Enable Dictation.
