How do I complete the parental consent process?

Cabined Accounts are Epic Accounts designed to provide a safe and inclusive experience for younger players when using Epic Games products and services. Additional information is available in Introducing Epic Games Cabined Accounts (Opens in a new tab).

When a child creates a Cabined Account, the system prompts them to send a parental consent request to a parent or guardian’s email address.

Parental consent process

1. Select Continue in the parental consent email sent to the parent or guardian to start the process.
   Note: The Email Subject Line for the consent email is [Action Requested] Your Child’s Epic Games Account
   • The email is sent when the child is asked to enter their guardian's email address, and the child enters the email address
     Note: If you cannot find the email that has been sent or you've entered the wrong guardian email; you go into the child's account settings and update the guardian email. This will re-send the email to the guardian email address that is entered.
2. Review the Epic Games Terms of Service.
3. If the Terms of Service are accepted, continue to the parental controls setup.
4. Configure account limitations, including:
   • Chat availability
   • Content rating access
   • Connection controls
5. Verify adult status using one of the available methods:
   Note: Available verification methods may vary by region. Refer to What verification methods are available in my country? for region-specific details.
   • Face scan
   • Credit or debit card
   • ID scan
6. If the child has only previously used a console account, the parent or guardian is prompted to create login credentials by entering an email address and password.
7. Confirm that parental permissions have been successfully applied to the account.
