Why am I unable to connect to Epic Online Services?

Our team is aware that some players are receiving error messages when opening the Epic Games launcher, stating that Epic Online Services are unavailable, or you are prompted to update or install Epic Online Services. 

  1. Open the Control Panel on your computer
  2. Select Programs, and then select Programs and Features
  3. Right-click Epic Online Services, and then click Uninstall
  4. Clear the launcher cache. Refer to How do I clear the Launcher cache on PC?

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try following the steps below to delete the Epic Online Services folder:

  1. Make sure the Epic Games Launcher is closed
  2. Navigate to following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games
  3. Right-click the Epic Online Services folder and click delete
  4. Open the Epic Games Launcher to see if the issue is resolved.

If you experience connection errors or issues connecting to Epic Online Services when launching a game, you may need to update Windows. Please refer to Install Windows Updates (Opens in a new tab).
