How do I give my child permission to talk to LLM-powered characters in Fortnite?
Parents can turn on the ‘Allow voice and written communication with AI Features’ setting in the Parental Controls section of the Fortnite main menu, or in their child’s Epic Account Settings (Opens in a new tab) on the web.
Epic Games Account Page:
Follow these steps to access and update settings online:
Sign in to your child’s Epic Games Account (Opens in a new tab).
Click Parental Controls on the left side of the screen.
Input your Parental Controls PIN.
Locate General
Scroll to the bottom of the settings and locate Allow voice and written communication with AI Features.
Select On.
Fortnite Parental Controls:
Follow these steps to access and update settings in Fortnite:
Open the Sidebar Menu.
Select the Hamburger Menu Button.
Select Parental Controls.
If Parental Controls are active you will need to input the PIN for your account.Scroll to the bottom of the settings to locate AI Features.
Toggle the setting to On.
When On, players will be able to interact with AI features in Epic Games’ products through voice and written communication.
If a player has a Cabined Account (Opens in a new tab), their parent/guardian will need to complete their account setup before giving permission to talk with LLM-powered characters.
