What is the Epic Games Launcher Early Preview?

The Epic Games Launcher Early Preview is a new version of the Epic Games Launcher, rebuilt from the ground up. You can choose to download it from October 14, 2026, on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The current Epic Games Launcher remains available.

The Early Preview is still in development, so you may find bugs, and some features from the current Epic Games Launcher aren't available yet. It is updated often with fixes and improvements.

Epic Games Support can help with both the Epic Games Launcher and the Epic Games Launcher Early Preview.

How do I get the Epic Games Launcher Early Preview?

  1. Go to the Epic Games Launcher Early Preview website (Opens in a new tab).

  2. Download the installer for your device: Windows (x64), macOS (Apple Silicon), or Linux (x64, AppImage or .deb package).

The Epic Games Launcher Early Preview isn't available on Mac computers with an Intel processor.

  3. Run the installer.

  4. Sign in with your Epic Games account.

If the current Epic Games Launcher is installed on your device, the Early Preview offers to move your installed games, apps, and Unreal Engine projects, then uninstalls the current Epic Games Launcher. You don't need to download your games again.

Moving your games can take a while. The loading spinner keeps moving while it works, so keep the window open until it finishes.

Can I go back to the current Epic Games Launcher?

Yes. To go back, uninstall the Epic Games Launcher Early Preview, then install the Epic Games Launcher from the Epic Games Store website.
