What are Time Limit Controls and how do they work?

Time Limit Controls allow parents or guardians to manage how much time their child spends in Fortnite and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN (Opens in a new tab)). If a parent chooses to enable this parental control, they can:

Limit the total amount of time their child can play per day.
Choose specific time windows when their child can spend in Fortnite each day, and set time limits within that window.
Set separate Play and Create Time Limits, and choose specific windows for both.
Choose whether to allow their child to request more time as they approach the end of their time limit.

Play Time covers playing Fortnite experiences. Create Time covers creating in Fortnite Creative, creating in UEFN, and playtesting unpublished UEFN islands. For more information, refer to What is Create Time and how does it work in Fortnite?

Players with time limits set for their account will begin seeing in-game notifications when they have 30 minutes left in Fortnite and UEFN. When time is up, they will not be able to use Fortnite or UEFN until time is scheduled to resume, unless a parent chooses to grant more time.

If a parent limits Play Time and Create Time separately, a child who runs out of Play Time can keep creating until their Create Time runs out.

Time limits are paused when Fortnite enters Sleep Mode. In UEFN, if the child is inactive for 10 minutes, UEFN goes idle and time limits are paused.

Time Limit Controls work across consoles and devices. As long as a child is using the same account across devices, the limit set by the parent or guardian will be in effect for Fortnite and UEFN no matter where they play or create.

Limits set for a device or console operate independently of Fortnite Time Limit Controls and may further limit allowed time on that device.
