I can’t complete purchases or claim free games because of a CAPTCHA error

If you’re unable to complete a purchase or claim a free game because the CAPTCHA won’t load or won’t verify, try the steps below.

1. Follow the steps in How to fix CAPTCHA issues when logging into your Epic Games account.
2. If the issue continues:
   • Open the Epic Games Store or your browser in Incognito or Private mode.
   • Disable any active VPN, proxy, or hosting service.
   • Switch to a different internet connection, such as mobile data or a hotspot.
   • Clear your browser cookies and cache.
   • If you’re using the Epic Games Launcher, follow the steps in How do I clear the Launcher cache on PC?
3. If none of these steps resolves the issue, wait a bit and try again later. Temporary CAPTCHA issues can resolve on their own.
