How do I link my Nintendo Switch account to my Epic Games account if I have never played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall Guys on a console previously?

Instructions for linking Nintendo Switch account to Epic Games account from a computer or mobile device

1. Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
   
   • Sign-in information for the Nintendo Switch account you want to connect to your Epic Games account. Check on your Nintendo Switch it’s the correct account you want to connect.
   • Sign-in information for the correct Epic Games account you want to link.
   • A computer or mobile device with an internet connection

2. Make sure you are following the correct process. The steps below are to be followed if you do not currently have a Nintendo Switch account already linked to your Epic Games account and if you have never played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall Guys on a console previously.

   • If you currently have a different Nintendo account linked to your Epic Games account and you want to connect a different Nintendo account, please follow the steps in How do I change the console account I have connected to my Epic Games account?

   • If you have played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall guys on a console previously, please follow the steps in How do I link my Nintendo Switch account to my Epic Games account if I have played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall Guys on a console previously?.

3. Click this link (Opens in a new tab) which will open a new browser tab and sign you out of your current session before you continue with the next step.

4. On the new browser tab it will show the Sign In screen. Click on the Nintendo logo
   
   
5. On the page that appears, click the Sign in button.
   
   

6. Enter your Nintendo sign-in details. Be sure to use the account information for the correct Nintendo account.

7. You will be asked to accept that your Nintendo account and Epic account share information. Select I agree to continue.

8. A new Epic Games window will appear asking if you have an Epic Games account to connect.
   Note: If you are a child and your parent hasn't helped you set up your account, you may have a Cabined Account with different features. Learn more about Cabined Accounts (Opens in a new tab).
9. Click SIGN IN
   
   
10. Once you sign in to your Epic Games account, you will see a success message

Instructions for linking Nintendo Switch account to Epic Games account from the Nintendo Switch

1. Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
   

   • Sign-in information for the Nintendo Switch account you want to connect to your Epic Games account. Check on your Nintendo Switch to confirm it’s the correct account you want to connect.

   • Sign-in information for the correct Epic Games account you want to link.

2. Make sure you are following the correct process. The steps below are to be followed if you do not currently have a Nintendo Switch account already linked to your Epic Games account and if you have never played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall Guys on a console previously.

   • If you currently have a different Nintendo account linked to your Epic Games account and you want to connect a different Nintendo account, please follow the steps in How do I change the console account I have connected to my Epic Games account?

   • If you have played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall guys on a console previously, please follow the steps in How do I link my Nintendo Switch account to my Epic Games account if I have played Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall Guys on a console previously?.

3. Go to your Nintendo Switch and open Fortnite, Fall Guys, or Rocket League, depending on which game you are looking to connect (For this example, we’ll use Fortnite)
   

4. Once you open the game it will take you to the sign-in screen

5. Press the button to start
   

6. Select LINK AN ACCOUNT (Do not select SKIP THIS)
   

7. You will see an 8-digit code
   

8. Go to https://www.epicgames.com/activate (Opens in a new tab)

9. Enter the code shown on your Nintendo Switch and click CONTINUE
   

10. Sign in to your Epic Games account
    
    Note: If you are a child and your parent hasn't helped you set up your account, you may have a Cabined Account with different features. Learn more about Cabined Accounts (Opens in a new tab).

11. If you have 2FA enabled for your Epic Games account, you will be asked for verification. Enter your 2FA code and click CONTINUE
    
    Note: Ensure the code is correct. If it’s not, try starting the process again.

12. If your account email is not verified, it will ask you to verify it
    

13. Once you are done, you will see a success message.
    

14. Go back to your Nintendo Switch and it will show the End User License Agreement

15. Return to your Nintendo Switch and it will show the End User License Agreement. Read the agreement and press the correct button to continue.
    

16. The game will start the sign-in process
    
    

17. Once done, you will be signed into your account
