What do I do if I followed the instructions to get my progress to sync across my devices, but the sync did not occur as expected?

There could be many reasons why the sync did not occur as you hoped for, and if you are certain that you followed all the steps correctly, check if any scenarios below could apply to you:

Which issue did you face when trying to sync your progress?

(Opens in a new tab)My Fortnite and/or Fall Guys progress disappeared, but my Rocket League progress remained

While Fortnite (and Fall Guys) is saved only in the Epic Games account, Rocket League’s progress is saved to your external platform’s account.

So let’s say you play Rocket League in your Nintendo mainly, and Fortnite in a PlayStation. This would mean that your Rocket League progress would be saved to the Nintendo account you are using to play from your Switch, and your Fortnite progress would be saved to the Epic Games account the PSN account you are using to play, is currently linked to.

If you unlink the PSN account from the Epic, and link it to the Epic account where the Nintendo is, the next time you play on your PlayStation, you may find that your Fortnite progress has been reset (or is not your main progress). Don’t worry though, this only means that the Epic account you are currently accessing does not have any Fortnite progress and you have to link it back to the Epic with your main progress (if you don’t know which one is it, please contact our support for assistance).

The best way to go here would be to unlink the Nintendo account from the Epic Games it currently is linked to, and link it to the Epic Games account where your PlayStation account is linked to. That way, you’ll retain access to your Fortnite account AND keep access to your Rocket League progress as well, from whichever platform you log in to - don’t forget to make the Nintendo account your primary though!

To retain access to the progress of both of your games, make sure to always link the external account where you play Rocket League to the Epic Games account where the Fortnite is linked to. You can follow one of the articles below, make sure to choose the one with the Fortnite platform in it: “How do I get my [platforms] for Fall Guys, Rocket League, and Fortnite to sync with all my other devices?”

Rocket League progress is saved only to the external platform account you normally use to play the game on. This also means that for the content to sync up with Fortnite, the account with the progress must be linked to the Epic account where your Fortnite progress is.

So if you play on a Nintendo device most of the time, the progress will be saved on your Nintendo account. If you decide to play Rocket League on a PC, you must make sure that the Nintendo you usually play on is linked to the same Epic Games account you have logged in to your Epic Games launcher.

If you unlink the Nintendo, you will lose access to the content from Rocket League that was obtained in the Nintendo account.

You can follow the steps here to fix this issue: “Why am I missing inventory or progress across my accounts in Rocket League?”

Always make sure you are logging in to the Epic Games account where your Fortnite progress is: if you play Fortnite on a console and wish to keep both the Rocket League and Fortnite progresses in one single account, choose to sign in with the console’scredentials. If you play Fortnite on a PC, make sure you are using the correct Epic Games account’s email.

(Opens in a new tab)I have progress from Fortnite played on a PC and progress from playing on a console. When I linked the console to my account, the progress did not sync together.

There is no way to combine the progress played on 2 different platforms. If you link your console to your Epic Games account with the progress from the PC, the PC progress will be what shows when you play on the console moving forward. The console progress will not move over.

For example, if you play Fortnite on PC as well as an Xbox and you link your Xbox to the Epic Games account you use to log in to the Epic Games Launcher, the progress from your PC will be the progress that now shows on your Xbox. If you want to keep both your PC progress and your Xbox progress, you will need to keep 2 Epic Games accounts - One for your PC and one for your Xbox. If you do this, playing on the Xbox will not change the progress on your PC account and vice versa as they are not linked. Unlinking the Xbox and linking the Xbox to another Epic Games account will not move the progress over to that new Epic Games account, because your Fortnite progress is only saved to the Epic Games account.
