What verification methods are available in my country?
When prompted to verify your age, you’ll only see the verification methods that apply to you. These depend on the country you’re in (for Age Verification) or the country your child is in (for Parent Verification).
Credit or Debit card (available outside of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Russia, Syria and Ukraine)
Social Security Number (available only in the US and US territories)
CPF Number (available only in Brazil)
CURP (available only in Mexico)
ID Scan (available outside the Republic of Korea; not available for Parent Verification in the US)
Face Scan (available outside the US and the Republic of Korea)
i-PIN (available only in the Republic of Korea)
Cell phone (available only in the Republic of Korea)
ConnectID (available only in Australia)
Credit or debit card verification (available outside of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Russia, Syria and Ukraine)
A successful monetary transaction on a credit or debit card helps verify your age. Because you have oversight on any transactions made on the card, you will know if it has been used for verification.
Credit and debit card verification works differently depending on whether you are in the US or the rest of the world.
If you, or your child (for Parent Verification), are located in the US, a small amount is charged to your card: $0.05 (USD) if you’re in the US, or a similar small amount in your local currency if you’re elsewhere. This is refunded within 8-13 business days.
If you, or your child (for Parent Verification), are located outside of the US, there is no charge to your card. Instead, a small amount is temporarily authorized against your card and then released.
This service is provided by payment processor Stripe, but “Kids Web Services” will appear as the merchant associated with the charge/authorization on your statement.
Social Security Number verification (available only in the US and US territories)
Your first name, last name, date of birth, address, zip code and the last 4 digits of your social security number (SSN) are checked against a government database to verify your age. This service is provided by Veratad.
CPF Number verification (available only in Brazil)
Your date of birth and CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas) ID number are checked against a government database to verify your age. This service is provided by Serpro.
CURP verification (available only in Mexico)
Your first name, maternal last name, paternal last name, and CURP (Clave Única de Registro de Población) ID number are checked against a government database to verify your age. This service is provided by Nubarium.
ID Scan verification (available outside the Republic of Korea; not available for Parent Verification in the US)
The front and back of your government-issued ID card are checked to verify your age. In the United Kingdom, you may also be asked to scan your face to confirm it’s you. ID scan is not available in the United States for Parent Verification. For best results, we suggest using a valid passport or driver’s license. This service is provided by Veriff.
Face Scan verification (available outside the US and the Republic of Korea)
The camera on your phone, laptop, or tablet is used to scan your facial features to estimate your age. This service is provided by Yoti.
i-PIN (available only in the Republic of Korea)
Users in the Republic of Korea can verify their age using i-PIN authentication. The i-PIN is a digital identification system used as an alternative to the Korean Resident Registration Number (RRN) for online services. To verify, users are directed to enter their i-PIN ID and password. This service is provided by Korea Credit Bureau (KCB).
Cell phone (available only in the Republic of Korea)
Users in the Republic of Korea can verify their age using a cell phone number. Using the PASS authentication application or SMS, users are prompted to input additional information to confirm their age (such as first name, last name, and/or Korean resident registration number). This service is provided by Korea Credit Bureau (KCB).
ConnectID (available only in Australia)
Users in Australia can verify their age by sharing a proof of age through their bank. No banking information is shared. This method is accredited by the Australian government, and the service is provided by Australian Payments Plus.
