IS-0007 or IS-0009: Manifest failed to load
These errors occur when the launcher is unable to download a game due to a corrupt or invalid file.
Manually uninstalling and reinstalling the game
If you remove and reinstall the game by removing its folder from your system, then downloading it again, this may resolve the issue.
- Exit the Epic Games Launcher by right-clicking on the system tray icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and clicking on Exit.
- Navigate to the directory where you installed the game.
Note: The default installation directory for your games is C:\Program Files\Epic Games. - Delete the game folder where this error appears.
- Restart the Epic Games Launcher.
- Try installing the game again.
Delete the EpicGamesLauncher folder
- Open your Epic Games Launcher
- Go to the Library.
- Select the game with this error message.
- Click the meatball menu (3 horizontal dots)
- Select Manage.
- Click the folder icon next to Uninstall.
Note: File Explorer will open - Close the Epic Game Launcher.
- Click the chevron icon (it looks like an arrow pointing up) in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Right-click on Epic Games Launcher.
- Select Exit.
- Click the up arrow icon in the upper left corner of File Explorer
Note: This will move you up 1 directory level - Delete the Game folder (Ex, Fortnite)
- Hold the Windows key, and press the R key.
- In the Run window, type: %localappdata%
- Press the Enter key.
- Right-click on the EpicGamesLauncher folder.
- Select Delete.
- Restart the Epic Games Launcher.
- Try installing the game again.
