How to fix Fall Guys crash and technical issues on PC

Before you begin any of the steps below be sure to check out our Community Issues Trello board for known issues. If you don't see your issue on the Trello board use these common fixes below to try to resolve your issue and try to run the game between each troubleshooting step:

Verify your system meets the requirements to run Fall Guys

To enjoy the best experience in Fall Guys your computer should meet the minimum requirements to run it. This article contains the requirements for Fall Guys and how to verify if you meet them.

Clear cache and verify your game files

Verifying your game files checks and fixes. If any files are missing or corrupted, running this method would reinstall and override the error.

For Steam:

  1. Clear your Steam cache and verify your game files.
  2. Launch Fall Guys.

For Epic Games Launcher:

  1. Clear your Epic Games launcher cache and verify your game files.
  2. Launch Fall Guys.

Run the Epic Games Launcher or Steam client as an Administrator

Running the Epic Games Launcher or Steam client as an Administrator may help since it bypasses the User Access Control which prevents certain actions from taking place on your computer.

  1. Right-click on Epic Games Launcher or Steam client.
  2. Click Run as administrator.
  3. Launch Fall Guys.

Update your video card drivers

Video driver updates are released regularly by manufacturers to fix bugs and improve performance. We highly recommend that you install the latest driver for your video card to have the best player experience in Fall Guys. You can find the latest drivers by going to your video card manufacturer's website using these links:

Update Network Drivers

Network cards are something that rarely get updated so make sure they are the most recent version.

  1. Click the Start button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, and type Device Manager in the Search bar.
  2. Expand the Network Adapters category. Right-click on each adapter, and select Update Driver Software from the drop-down menu.
  3. Follow the instructions on the following screens to finish updating.
  4. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

Disable background applications

Sometimes background applications cause issues or reduce performance when you try to play Fall Guys. Follow the steps in this article to make sure any background applications are disabled.

Repair or reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable

The Visual C++ Redistributable packages are required to be able to run Fall Guys. Make sure these are installed and/or repaired.

  1. Download all the Visual C++ Redistributable here.
  2. Make sure to download both the x64 and x86 versions.
  3. Once the download completes, run the executable files and choose Repair.
    Note: If there is no Repair option, proceed with the normal installation using the on-screen instructions.
  4. Once the repair completes, restart your computer.
  5. Relaunch Fall Guys.

Check for Missing or Corrupted System Files

Follow the instruction in this article to locate and repair issues on your Operating System.

Reinstall Epic Online Services

  1. Go to Fall Guys in your Epic Games Launcher library
  2. Click the three dots next to Fall Guys
  3. Click Manage
  4. Click the Folder icon next to Uninstall to open the folder where Fall Guys is installed on your computer
  5. Navigate to the EpicOnlineServices folder
  6. Double-click EpicOnlineServicesInstaller to install Epic Online Services. If you have any external disks or storage drives connected to your PC, ensure you are installing it onto the main disk of your computer.
  7. Once the installation is complete, try relaunching Fall Guys

Run all Windows updates

  1. Type Updates in Windows search and press Enter.
  2. In the new window, click Check for updates.
  3. Install everything available.
  4. Reboot your system.

Hardware Stack Protection enabled on Windows 11

The Hardware Stack Protection (HSP) for Windows 11 defaults to being disabled when you download Windows 11.

If you edited your registry files and enabled HSP, you currently will not be able to access Fall Guys. HSP will need to remain disabled if you want to access Fall Guys at this time.

IMPORTANT: We do not recommend editing your registry files. Before you make any changes to any registry files we would highly recommend that you consult a professional.

Clear the Fall Guys cache folder

  1. In the lower-left corner click the Yellow Folder icon
    This will open File Explorer
  2. Click on C:
  3. Click on Users
  4. Click on your user name
  5. Click on AppData
  6. Click on LocalLow
  7. Click on Mediatonic
  8. Delete the FallGuys_client folder
  9. Restart the game and try again

Run the Windows System File Checker

Close the Epic Games Launcher

  1. Select the Show Hidden Icons chevron (up arrow in the lower right corner)
  2. Right-click on the Epic Game Launcher
  3. Select Exit

Run the System File Checker

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type cmd
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt in the Program list
  4. Select the option Run as administrator (otherwise the scan won't work properly).
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Yes to continue
  5. Once the Command Prompt window opens, type sfc/scannow
  6. Press the Enter key
  7. Let the scan run
