How do I remove the FortniteGame folder from %localappdata%?

If Fortnite is constantly crashing when you try to launch it, you can try deleting the FortniteGame folder from the %localappdata% folder.

This process may reset your in-game settings. We recommend taking a screenshot of your settings before completing these steps so you can return your game settings afterward.

  1. Close Fortnite and the Epic Games Launcher.
  2. Hold the Windows Key.
  3. Tap the R key.
    The run window will open.
  4. In the Run field type: %localappdata%
  5. Right-click on the folder: FortniteGame
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Right-click on Epic Games Launcher.
  9. Select Run as Administrator.
  10. Select Library in the left column.
  11. Find Fortnite.
  12. Click on the Meatball menu (3 horizontal dots).
  13. Select Manage.
  14. Select Verify.
  15. Launch Fortnite.
