- If you are not receiving an error message, start by making sure your device meets the minimum requirements to run Fortnite. You can check these requirements in the article What are the system requirements for Fortnite on PC?
- If your device does not meet the minimum requirements, you will need to use a different device or upgrade your current device to play the game.
- If your device meets the requirements, please continue to the next step.
- Verify the integrity of your game files by following the steps in How do I verify the integrity of Fortnite game files? If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Clear your launcher cache using the steps in How do I clear the Launcher cache on PC? If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Try the steps in How do I force Fortnite to use DirectX 11? if your device is currently using DirectX 12. If this does not address the issue, continue to the next step.
- Ensure that your video drivers are up to date by following the steps in How do I update my video card drivers to fix problems with Fortnite?. If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Try running the launcher as an admin by following the steps in How do I run the Epic Games Launcher as an Administrator?. If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Reinstall the Epic Games Launcher by following the steps in How do I reinstall the Epic Games Launcher? If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Try reinstalling Fortnite. For steps on how to do this see How do I reinstall Fortnite?. If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Follow the steps in How do I create a clean boot on a Windows device for Fortnite?. If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
- Follow the steps in How do I check my drive for errors to solve Fortnite issues? to make sure there are no issues with your drive. If this does not resolve your issue, continue to the next step.
