If you're seeing this error, try the following steps to troubleshoot:
- Clear your Xbox's cache: How do I clear my Xbox Series S|X cache?
- Quit the game from the Xbox Dashboard, and then restart the game:
- From Fortnite, click the Xbox button on the controller and select Home to get out of the game and back to the Xbox dashboard
- With the game title selected, click the Menu button on the controller
- From the Fortnite game menu that pops up, click Quit
- Restart your modem/router: How do I restart my modem or router to solve connection issues?
- Switch the DNS that your Xbox device uses:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller
- Go to Settings
- While on the General Tab, navigate to: Network Settings > Advanced Settings > DNS Settings
- Change the setting to Manual.
- Enter the following:
- Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
- Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
- Remove and re-add your Xbox profile: Add or remove an Xbox profile
