Why am I getting matchmaking error #1, #2, or #3 in Fortnite?

You may receive matchmaking errors when queueing in to play Fortnite Battle Royale or Creative mode. The errors below are mainly caused by a server maintenance or a network connection issue:

Matchmaking error (#1): Weird. We couldn't connect to the match. You can try again, but if the problem continues, check out https://status.epicgames.com (Opens in a new tab). (Opens in a new tab)

Matchmaking error (#2): We had trouble connecting to content beacon service. Give it another shot, if the problem continues, check out https://status.epicgames.com (Opens in a new tab). (Opens in a new tab)

Matchmaking error (#3): Looks like all the Battle Buses headed out are full. Give it another shot in a few minutes, if it keeps up, visit https://status.epicgames.com. (Opens in a new tab)

To help you resolve this issue and get back to the game, you can follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Check for any server-related issues on https://status.epicgames.com (Opens in a new tab).
    • If any systems are down (such as matchmaking disabled due to maintenance), keep an eye on status changes and try again later.
  2. If you do not see any down systems on https://status.epicgames.com (Opens in a new tab), try the troubleshooting steps in the articles below:

If the issue persists, please submit a bug report: How to submit a Fortnite bug report in-game.
