Why am I stuck on the Press X to Start Screen in Fortnite on PlayStation?

This is typically caused by a miscommunication with the controller.

1. Start Fortnite.
2. Continue to the Press X to Start screen.
3. Turn your controller off.
4. Turn your controller on.
5. Press X.

You should now be able to get into the game
