Why can't I play Fortnite in split-screen on my PlayStation?
If you're running into problems while trying to play Fortnite in split-screen on PlayStation, or if you don't see the triangle button to use split-screen, please try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure you've followed all the steps in this article: How do I use split-screen mode in Fortnite?
- If you've followed those steps, and still can't use split-screen, check your Controller Connections. Ensure both controllers are properly connected to the console.
- Confirm both players are logged in with separate Epic Games accounts. Ensure both accounts have the necessary permissions and are linked correctly.
- Check if the selected game mode supports split-screen. Split-screen is typically available in modes like Duos and Squads.
- Make sure both Fortnite and the console's system software are updated to the latest versions.

- Restart your PlayStation console. This can resolve temporary glitches or software conflicts that may be preventing the split-screen from working.

- Check Communication Settings:
- Close the Fortnite.
- Restore Licenses
- For PS4 - Select Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses > click Restore
- For PS5 - Select Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses> click Restore
- After that, look for Network under the PlayStation Settings.
- Go to Set Up Internet Connection.
- Select Wi-Fi/LAN depending on what you use to connect
Note: LAN/wired connection is highly recommended. - Select Custom/Advanced settings
Note: If you are on Wi-fi, you will need to select the Network and enter its password. - Make sure the following settings are set with these selections:
IP Address Settings (Automatic)
DHCP Host Name (Do Not Use)
DNS Settings (Manual)
Enter the following IP addresses:
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4 - Select Next.
- Make sure the following settings are set with these selections:
MTU Settings (manual) - add 1500 - Select OK.
- Restart your PlayStation.
