We have a couple of things that may help fix this issue:
Update Video Card Drivers
Drivers are the software that tell the hardware how to run. Out-of-date drivers may fail when telling a piece of hardware (like a video card) how to run a specific type of software (like Fortnite). making sure your video card drivers are up to date can solve many video problems.
The following links contain the most up-to-date drivers for each manufacturer:
Performance Mode
This is a mode that puts less strain on your graphics card:
- Start Fortnite
- Select the Player Profile icon (circle with your current character outfit) in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings (gear icon).
- Select Video (monitor icon).
- Find the Display section.
- Change the Rendering Mode to Performance - Lower Graphical Fidelity.
Performance Mode Command Line
Using a command line when launching Fortnite will force the game into performance mode:
- Start Epic Game Launcher.
- Select the Player Profile icon (circle with the first character of your user name) in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Expand Fortnite (click the arrow next to Fortnite).
- Check the Additional Command Line box.
- Type: -FeatureLevelEs31
- Start Fortnite
Force DirectX 11
If all else fails you can try forcing DirectX 11:
- Start Epic Game Launcher.
- Select the Player Profile icon (circle with the first character of your user name) in the upper right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Expand Fortnite (click the arrow next to Fortnite).
- Check the Additional Command Line box.
- Type -d3d11
- Launch Fortnite.
