What do I do if I receive the error "Invalid Drive" when installing the Epic Games Launcher?

Before a game or program is installed, you're prompted to select an installation directory. This directory is assigned a hard drive letter. By default, this is your C: drive:

The Invalid Drive error appears for one of these reasons:

• The hard disk your operating system is installed on has changed (drive C: is most common) or the drive letter of the DVD-ROM or CD-ROM has changed since a prior install of a program. 
• There’s an incorrect value in the Data filed of a registry key.

Try the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

Change your hard drive letter

Here are steps to change your hard drive letter which may resolve the issue:

1. Click Start.
2. Type "Disk Management", and then press Enter.
3. Right-click the drive that had its letter modified, and then click Change drive letter and paths.
4. Click Change.
5. Change the letter back to the original one. Typically this is C:.
6. Click OK.
7. Try installing the Epic Games Launcher.

Fix bad registry entries

1. Click Start.
2. Type "Settings", and then press Enter to open the Settings panel.
3. Click Update & Security.
4. On the Recovery tab, click Advanced Startup, and then click Restart now.
   
   
5. Next, you will see Windows 10 Advanced Startup.
6. At the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
7. At the Advanced Options screen, click Automated Repair.
8. Choose an account and log in when prompted to do so.

Automatic Repair should now start and your computer may reboot during this process.
