How do I change my DNS servers on my console to connect to Fortnite?

Adjusting your DNS settings on your console may resolve various issues including but not limited to network connectivity or voice chat issues.


Xbox

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Select Network settings.
  5. Select Advance Network settings.
  6. Select DNS settings.
  7. Select Manual and enter the following:
    • Primary 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary 8.8.4.4

PlayStation

  1. Press the PS button on your controller.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Go to setup internet connection.
  4. Select WiFi or cable.
  5. Select Custom.
  6. Set IP address to Auto.
  7. Set DHCP to Auto.
  8. Set DNS to Manual and enter the following:
    • Primary 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary 8.8.4.4
  9. Set MTU to Auto.
  10. Make sure proxy is not being used.

Nintendo Switch

  1. Go to Home.
  2. Go to System Settings.
  3. Go to Internet settings.
  4. Select the network you are connected or the one you are trying to connect to.
  5. Go to Change Settings.
  6. Go to DNS settings.
  7. Select Manualand enter the following:
    • Primary 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary 8.8.4.4
