How do I run a traceroute for the network connection I'm using for Fortnite?

We understand how frustrating latency and packet loss issues can influence your experience playing Fortnite.

While we are unable to offer assistance for these issues due to our scope of technical support we’d like to provide you with information on how to run a traceroute that should be shared with your internet service provider when you reach out to them. A traceroute will provide information about where the issue is with your network connection when contacting our servers. This can help your ISP (internet service provider) assist you with resolving your issue.

To get a traceroute (tracert) do the following:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type cmd and press Enter.
  3. Highlight and copy the command below for the server region you’re connecting to:
    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\fortnite_tracert.txt"

    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\fortnite_tracert.txt"

    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\fortnite_tracert.txt"

    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\fortnite_tracert.txt"

    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\fortnite_tracert.txt"

    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\fortnite_tracert.txt"

    Middle East
    (tracert > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\tracert.txt"

  4. Paste the command into the cmd window by right-clicking on it and clicking Paste.
Note: Don't use the keyboard shortcut to paste as this won't paste the command correctly.
  5. When you reach out to your internet service provider attach the file generated and they should be able to provide further assistance.
