We released Ownership Verification built into the Epic Games Launcher as
outlined
here. If you are seeing this error code trying to play a game on your account
then this means we can not confirm ownership of the game you are trying to
play. This could be caused by local network connection issues, by
temporary issues with our backend services, or by not being logged into the
correct Epic Games account.
Network connection troubleshooting
Sometimes your network may be the reason we're unable to confirm the
ownership of a game on your account. Try our common troubleshooting steps
here
that may resolve this issue.
Verify you’re logged into the correct Epic Games account
You’ll want to make sure the account you’re logged in has
completed a purchase for the game you are trying to play.
-
Go to
www.epicgames.com.
- Login to the Epic Games account you’re using.
-
Hover over your name in the top right corner and click on
Account.
- Click on Transactions.
-
Determine if you have a purchase on the account or not.
-
If you see a completed purchase for the game, double check if
you’re logged into that account on the Epic Games Launcher. If
you’re not, logout and login with the correct one to access your
game.
-
If you don’t see a completed purchase for the game here
you’re not logged into the correct Epic Games account.
You’ll have to determine the correct one to login that you
previously made a purchase on. If you aren’t able to locate the
account please reach out to us and we’ll be glad to help you
locate it.
