How do I fix the error "A file access error has occurred. Please check your running processes"?

  1. Make sure no processes are running for the game you are trying to launch or update. Refer to How do I disable background applications?
  2. Try to launch or update again
  3. Reinstall the Epic Games Launcher. Refer to How do I reinstall the Epic Games Launcher?
    Note: This will remove all of the games that you installed through the Epic Games Launcher.
