Troubleshooting Epic Games Store download or installation issues on iPhone and iPad

This article helps you troubleshoot issues when downloading or installing the Epic Games Store on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. Make sure your region is supported. You must be located in the European Union or Japan.
Note: The Epic Games Store app is currently not available on iPad in Japan.
  2. Check that your device is running a supported version of iOS or iPadOS.
    1. Open Settings and select General.
    2. Select Software Update.
    3. Confirm your version meets the minimum requirement:
      • iOS 17.6 or higher in the EU.
      • iOS 26.2 or higher in Japan.
      • iPadOS 18 or higher.
  3. Use the Safari browser when downloading and installing the Epic Games Store.
  4. If you do not see the Allow Apps from Epic Games Inc prompt and you meet all eligibility requirements, attempt the installation again a few times in a row to trigger the permission request.
  5. Restart your device, wait 5 - 10 minutes, and then try the installation again.
  6. If the above doesn't work, try clearing cache on your Safari app from your App settings. You can do this by selecting Safari, and scroll down to tap Clear History and Website Data.
