Why am I not getting Epic Rewards from Fortnite purchases when on a console?

Epic Rewards are earned with eligible purchases. Those purchases also need to be made via the Epic Games Store, or in-game playing from the Epic Games Launcher. 

If the in-game purchases are made when playing Fortnite from a console, then the purchase was made using the console's individual store service, so the Epic Rewards program doesn't apply there.
