Why do I receive the "This edition contains something you already have. Still interested?" message when purchasing a game or special edition?

If you see this message when you purchase a game or a special edition in the Epic Games Store, it's because you own some of the content included in the edition that you are trying to purchase.

For example, if you own a standard edition of a game, when you try to buy the ultimate edition, you might see this message.
