How do I flush my DNS on Windows to improve my connection to Epic Games servers?
DNS is a name lookup service, like a phone book for the internet. Flushing your DNS allows your device to remove outdated entries and get new ones.
To flush your DNS follow the steps below:
Open the search menu in the bottom-left corner of Windows.
Type CMD and Right-click on Command Prompt
Select Run as Administrator to access the prompt.
Type netsh winsock reset and press the Enter key.
Restart your computer.
Repeat steps 1-3 to open a new Command Prompt
Type ipconfig /release in the prompt
Wait a few moments for all information to load
Type ipconfig /renew in the prompt
Wait a few moments for all information to load
Type ipconfig /flushdns in the prompt
Close the command prompt
Open the Epic Games Launcher and start your game
